About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Mortgage Consultant to assist clients in securing the best mortgage products for their needs. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of mortgage products, lending guidelines, and market trends to guide clients through the home loan process efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Client Consultation & Needs Assessment

• Advise clients on available mortgage options based on their financial status and goals.
• Conduct initial assessments to determine mortgage eligibility.
• Explain mortgage terms, interest rates, repayment plans, and associated costs to clients.

🔹 Mortgage Application & Loan Processing

• Assist clients in preparing and submitting mortgage applications.
• Work with lenders, underwriters, and other stakeholders to facilitate loan approvals.
• Ensure all required documentation is complete and accurate.

🔹 Market Research & Product Knowledge

• Stay updated on current mortgage rates, lending regulations, and financial market trends.
• Provide insights on government-backed loan programs (FHA, VA, USDA) and conventional mortgage products.
• Educate clients about refinancing options and investment property loans.

🔹 Relationship Management & Networking

• Build strong relationships with clients, real estate agents, and financial institutions.
• Generate leads through referrals, networking, and marketing efforts.
• Maintain regular follow-ups with clients throughout the loan process.

🔹 Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure adherence to all mortgage lending regulations, company policies, and ethical lending practices.
• Keep detailed records of client interactions and loan processing activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

✔ Education & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field (preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in mortgage lending, financial advising, or a related field.
• Mortgage loan officer (MLO) license, if required by the state.

✔ Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of mortgage products, interest rates, and lending regulations.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyze financial statements and credit reports.
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in mortgage software and CRM tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with banks, credit unions, or mortgage brokerage firms.
• Knowledge of FHA, VA, and USDA loan programs.
• Sales experience in financial services or real estate.
