Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial leases (office, retail, industrial), purchase and sale agreements, easements, licenses, and other real estate-related documents.
- Advise internal business units on real estate development, acquisitions, zoning, title matters, and due diligence.
- Provide legal support on property management issues, including tenant disputes, lease enforcement, and contract obligations.
- Assist in structuring and closing real estate transactions and coordinate with external counsel as needed.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local real estate laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in legal, finance, construction, and operations teams.
- Manage and mitigate legal risks in real estate transactions and operations.
- Support litigation and dispute resolution related to real estate matters.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in [insert relevant state(s)].
- 5–8 years of legal experience, with a strong focus on commercial real estate law (in-house or law firm experience).
- Strong understanding of property law, title review, leasing, land use, and development processes.
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in-house for a real estate company, REIT, or retail/industrial developer.
- Familiarity with environmental, zoning, and permitting regulations.
- Strong organizational and strategic thinking abilities.
