As part of the QA chapter your role will be to ensure that our systems and processes are well tested, with a strong focus on test automation at every step of the journey.

This role requires the successful candidate to be able to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and to successfully partner with stakeholders such as Developers, Product Owners and Business Analysts to ensure we are testing to a high standard.

The PSE area focuses on the ANZ systems and processes that engage with bank customers and leads, and ensures that those systems provide customers with experiences that are timely, relevant, and effective for that unique customer

What will your day look like

As a test engineer you will be:

• Working within a squad to understand their testing needs and the interactions between your squad and stakeholders, then ensuring that clear and appropriate acceptance criteria, test plans and estimates are in place for upcoming initiatives
• Testing solution deliveries through functional UI testing, performance testing, API testing and more! Always with a focus on test automation
• Implementing improvements to our testing frameworks and coverage
• Championing modern QA practices techniques, including automated testing frameworks
• Collaborating with product owners, engineers and analysts to identify risks early and help prevent and fix bugs as they arise
• Identifying new opportunities for continuous improvement and implementing solutions to perform more effective and efficient testing
• Ensuring the necessary hygiene for good test management - such that we have traceability for test case creation, good script organisation, well documented test execution, consistent defect logging, and clear testing metrics

What will you bring

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

• Strong engineering fundamentals and professional background (B.Tech or BE preferred), with 7 - 12 years of experience in QA/test engineering
• Strong understanding of the Software Test Life Cycle and experience in most aspects of QA/Testing along with a specialisation in one or more areas, such as Functional UI testing, API testing, Performance Testing, Security testing, mobile device testing
• Experience with some of the following automation tools is essential - Microsoft Playwright, Puppeteer, Cyprus, Selenium, SuperTest API, Rest Assured, K6 or LoadRunner
• Knowledge and experience with DBMS such as MySQL, Postgres or Oracle
• Knowledge in one of the Public Cloud such as AWS, Azure or GCP is added advantage
• Knowledge and experience with Application Debugging
• Programming experience is essential in either JavaScript/TypeScript or Java is preferred but Python experience will be considered too
• Experience with version management systems such as GIT, project management tools such as JIRA, test management tools such as Xray, CI/CD are essential
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to have effective conversations with both technical and non-technical members of the team
